new - health prevention pathway (pps)

a new gateway to running competitions

Following a change in regulations, a new type of proof of fitness is making its appearance in the world of out-of-stadium racing. From April 1, 2024, the Parcours Prévention Santé (PPS) will gradually replace the requirement to provide a medical certificate to take part in a running event.

new federal regulations for registration in road races

As part of the March 2, 2022 "Sport" law aimed at democratizing the practice of sport in France, the French Athletics Federation has set up its Health Prevention Path (PPS)which will gradually replace the requirement for all adults to provide a medical certificate of fitness.

The purpose of the PPS is to simplify registration for the various races on the calendar, without removing the need for participants to practice their sport in full health. The principle of the PPS is to make athletes more aware of the health risks associated with athletics, while enabling them to take action more quickly at bib.
