All you need to know

Who can register?

The events (except for Foulées de la Liberté) are open to both licensed and non-licensed participants and are subject to age limits. Participation age is based on the current calendar year and not on the date of the event.

- The D-Day Landings Marathon : from 20 years of age (born in 2006 and before);

- Relay Marathon : 16 years and over (born in 2010 and earlier);

- Pegasus Half Marathon: 18 years and over (born in 2008 and earlier) ;

- The 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie : from 16 years old (born in 2010 and before) ;

- La Rochambelle : from age 7 for walkers and 16 for runners (born in 2019 and earlier for walkers and 2010 and earlier for runners). 

How to register?

Registrations can only be made online via our dedicated platform by clicking here. You just have to create an account or to connect to it if you have already participated.

How to register multiple participants?

Each participant must register via an individual account. However you can register another person from your online account by clicking on "event registration" then "register a third party".

I am a student or job seeker. How can I benefit from a preferential rate?

Students, jobseekers and people on RSA or ASS benefit from the opening rate all year round (Marathon: 62€ - Pegasus: 31€ - 10 km: 18€). To benefit, simply enter the advantage code for the event selection stage: ETUDIANT2026 (students) and COURIR2026. Proof of student status will be requested at registration.

 

I would like to obtain a preferential bib . How can I do this?

The scales for requesting a preferential bib are as follows:

- D-Day Landings Marathon: less than 3h30 for a woman and less than 3h00 for a man.

- Pegasus Half Marathon: less than 1h40 for a woman and less than 1h25 for a man.

- 10K Crédit Agricole Normandie: less than 45min for a woman and less than 38min for a man.

A participant will be authorized to receive a preferential bib only after validation by the organizer of his request made by mail or email to info@marathondelaliberte.fr before May 7, 2026 and accompanied by proof of recent results.

How to be part of the elite runners?

The scales to be part of the elite runners are as follows:

- D-Day Landings Marathon: N3 level at international level (women and men)

- Pegasus Half Marathon: N3 level at international level (women and men)

- 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie: N3 level at international level (women and men)

An athlete will only be authorized to join the elite squad after the organization has validated his request by mail or e-mail to elite@marathondelaliberte.fr before May 7, 2026, accompanied by proof of recent results.

How do I send my proof of aptitude?

In France, the Fédération Française d'Athlétisme (FFA) regulates the conditions for participation in running events. In accordance with the regulations for running eventsany participation in a competition is subject to the presentation of proof of fitness.

Participants aged 18 and over

To take part in the tests, you must present one of the following two documents:

- Preventive Health Care

Not a licensed rider? You need to fill out your Health Prevention Plan (PPS). The aim of the PPS is to make participants aware of the risks, precautions and recommendations associated with running, while encouraging individual responsibility on the part of the runner. Go to pps.athle.fr to edit your PPS in the three months prior to your event, i.e. from March 7, 2026.

- French Athletics Federation (FFA) license

Only Athlé Compétition, Athlé Entreprise or Athlé Running licenses issued by the Fédération Française d'Athlétisme are accepted.

Participants under 18 years of age

To take part in the tests, you must present one of the following two documents:

- Health certificate

Not a licensee? You and your legal guardian must jointly complete the minor's health questionnaire. The legal guardian then certifies to the federation that each section of the questionnaire has been answered in the negative by completing the minor's health certificate. The minor's questionnaire must be kept by the legal guardian. The health certificate is equivalent to the proof of fitness to be sent to the organizer. If you are unable to produce a health certificate, you must provide a medical certificate attesting to the absence of any contraindication to the practice of athletics, running or competitive sport, dated less than six months before the day of the event.

- French Athletics Federation (FFA) license

Only Athlé Compétition, Athlé Entreprise or Athlé Running licenses issued by the Fédération Française d'Athlétisme are accepted.

Deadlines for sending us your proof :

- May 7, 2026 for team registrations and individuals who have subscribed to home delivery bib

- June 3, 2026 for individuals.

What do I do if my proof of ability have been refused?

If your credential has been denied, you can view the reason for denial in your online account by clicking here.

To complete your registration, youou must provide valid proof of fitness.

How do I know if I am registered?

Once you have registered, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration (please check your SPAM if necessary).

You can also view your registration at any time from your online account by clicking here.

I would like to change of race. Is this possible?

All registrations are firm and final. No change of event is possible after validation of your registration.

I can't participate. How can I get my money back?

Students, jobseekers and people receiving RMI or solidarity benefits, registered for the D-Day Landings Marathon, the Pegasus Half Marathon or the 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie, may be reimbursed the amount of their registration (excluding options) on presentation of recent proof of their situation and valid proof of non-participation.

Refunds will be made only after the event.

How does the bibs exchange work?

The organization is setting up a bibs exchange, enabling runners to buy and resell bibs directly from the registration platform. Further details will be announced shortly.

What are the conditions for creating a team?

Team participation is open to groups of friends, communities, associations, companies, clubs and works councils.

There are several prerequisites for creating a team:

1 - have at least 10 participants in your team ;

2 - respect the team participation rules ;

3 - appoint a team leader to act as liaison between the organizer and team members;

4 - finalize the team before May 7, 2026.

5 - pay the registration fees before the bibs are delivered.

How do I create a team?

How to renew a team?

To renew your team, contact us by e-mail at equipe@marathondelaliberte.fr

How to join an existing team?

Each participant must register via their online account, entering the advantage code provided by their team manager. This code will enable them to be automatically integrated into the team.

The steps :

- Log in to your online account by clicking here ;

- On your dashboard, click on "Register for an event", then "Join a team". Enter your advantage code "XXXX" and follow the steps until your registration is finalized.

- You will then receive an e-mail confirming your registration.

How does the payment work for a team?

If you choose to pay in full, payment will be made by cheque or bank transfer on receipt of the invoice.

If you opt for individual payment, each participant will pay directly by credit card when registering.

Reminder: Payment must be made before bibs are collected or sent.

How do I find out my bib number?

You will be given a bib number shortly before the event. It will be visible as soon as it is assigned from your online account by clicking here. An email will be sent to you to inform you of this.

I would like to receive my bib at home. How can I do this?

Participants in the D-Day Landings Marathon, the Pegasus Half Marathon and the 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie can have their bib sent to their home address at a cost of €10.00 (excluding team entries). This option is available until May 7, 2026 for deliveries in mainland France only. The bibs will be sent at the end of May to the address indicated on your online account, subject to the file being complete on that date.

How to withdraw bibs?

If you are participating in a team, please contact your team leader directly to find out how your team will collect the bibs.
If you have subscribed to the post delivery and if your file is complete, you will receive your bib at the end of May at the address you gave when you registered.
If you are registered as an individual, the following information concerns you.

bibs can be picked up at the D-Day Landings Marathon Village Expo at the Parc des Expositions in Caen (rue Joseph Philippon) upon presentation of a valid ID:
FRIDAY JUNE 5 FROM 2:00 PM TO 8:00 PM
SATURDAY JUNE 6 FROM 10:00 AM TO 7:00 PM (UNTIL 6:00 PM FOR LA ROCHAMBELLE)

BIB WITHDRAWAL = COMPLETE REGISTRATION + IDENTITY DOCUMENT + BIB NUMBER

Please remember to bring your bib number with you to reduce the waiting time for collection. Find your bib number at any time from your online account, Click here.

For any bib collected by a third party, the latter must present the ID of the person for whom the pack is being collected. Otherwise, a copy of the family record book is accepted for minors.

No pins will be given out, so please bring your own.

What do I need to know about Accommodation - Accessibility - Shuttles - Parking?

Hosting

To organise your stay in Normandy, please consult our dedicated page by clicking here.

In practice, if you do not have a vehicle, we advise you to stay in Caen, where the shuttles leave and the races arrive.

The Parc des Expositions de Caen (exhibition village, bibs, parking) and the Stade Hélitas (finish line) are within walking distance from the city centre.

Caen train station is 2.5 km from the exhibition centre. It is also within easy walking distance.

Shuttles

A free shuttle service is available to take you from the Exhibition Centre to the start of your event on Sunday morning. There is no shuttle service at the arrival of the events. This This service is only available for participants of the Marathon, Half-Marathon and 1st relay of the Relay Marathon.

Rotation period: 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

You can then access the Exhibition Centre via the Zénith de Caen roundabout You must follow the signs and take the direction of Louvigny. Access is also possible via the Cavée viaduct.

The Parc des Expositions parking lots are entirely dedicated to participants, visitors and spectators of the D-Day Landings Marathon from June 4 to 7, 2026 (free parking for cars and bicycles). Consult the site map by clicking here.

Is there a camper van park?

How does the start-up SAS work?

Starting locks are set up to facilitate the start of the events.

On the day, position yourself in the airlock corresponding to your time. These are freely accessible at the start of the events.

How does the timing system work on the marathon relay?

Timing is carried out using a disposable electronic timing system glued to the team bib , which must be attached to the belt provided. This belt, together with the team bib , must be handed over between each runner. The order of the runners indicated at registration is not important and does not necessarily correspond to the order of the relays. The timing mats will be located at the entrance or exit of the relay zones. Each runner must be belted onto the relevant timing belt for the team's performance to be recorded.

How are the awards ceremonies organized?

The prize-giving ceremonies will take place near the finish line, at Caen's Hélitas stadium, on Sunday June 7.

- For the 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie and the Pegasus Half Marathon, only the first three men and women (scratch) finish on the podium.

- For the D-Day Landings Marathon, the top three male and female runners (scratch and regional) will be called up.

- For the Relay Marathon, only the first three teams in each category (mixed, men, women) will be called.

Provisional schedule for prize-giving ceremonies :

- 10:30 a.m.: 10K - Crédit Agricole Normandie

- 11:45am: Pegasus Half Marathon

- 1:30 p.m.: D-Day Landings Marathon

- 1:45pm: Relay Marathon

The first male and female riders in each category will receive their awards in the weeks following the event.
