Anti-fraud measures: new regulations
39th edition of the D-Day Landings Marathon
In response to the rise in fraud cases, the organization is updating its regulations and significantly strengthening the control measures for the Bib collection the 2026 edition, which will take place from June 4 to 7.
CHANGES TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF Bib collection
These measures, made necessary by the scale of the phenomenon observed, are intended to ensure the safety of all participants and uphold the principle of fair play. Cheating, which is no longer a marginal issue, affects all levels of participation, from casual runners to seasoned competitors.

– In-person pickup required: race bibs may not be picked up on behalf of a third party (D-Day Landings Marathon, Pegasus Half Marathon, 10K Crédit Agricole Normandie). Each participant must appear in person at Bib collection, with an original form of identification, on FRIDAY 5TH JUNE 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM or on SATURDAY 6TH JUNE 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at Parc des Expositions de Caen. For the Relay Marathon, at least one member of the team Bib collection . Only minor participants may have their legal guardian collect their race bibs on their behalf. Participants in La Rochambelle are La Rochambelle subject to this requirement.
– Participant wristband: After identity verification, a wristband will be placed on each participant’s wrist when they pick up their race number. Like the race number, this wristband must be worn at all times during the event. Both must remain visible at all times. The organizers reserve the right to conduct checks at any time. Participants in La Rochambelle are La Rochambelle subject to this requirement.
Reminder: The transfer and resale of race bibs outside of the race bib exchange are prohibited and considered fraudulent.

4 good reasons to avoid transferring race bibs outside the official channel
1. safe running
– Outside of the official circuit, your registration is not covered by the organizer's insurance.
– In the event of illness or accident, emergency services do not have access to your emergency information (family contacts, medical history), which may affect the quality of your care.
– You may have to pay your own medical expenses and face possible legal action .
2. avoid fraud and scams
– Parallel networks are full of fake bibs , fictitious registrations or bibs sold to several runners. You may find yourself unable to participate, with no recourse possible.
– The organization declines all responsibility in the event of fraud, scam or purchase of bibs carried out outside official channels.
3. respect the race rules
– The race regulations prohibit the resale of bibs outside the official exchange.
– Presenting a bib obtained outside the official circuit is considered a fraudulent act.
– The organizing team reserves the right not to issue a bib , to refuse access to the test, or to pronounce a disqualification if irregularities are noted.
4. Safeguard the balance of the event
– Buying or reselling bibs outside the official exchange fuels speculation and increases in bibs prices.
– This may cause an early closure of official registrations and unbalance the planned logistics (supplies, number of volunteers, flow management).
– By diverting the nominative system, we harm the work of the organizing team and the fairness of the event for all participants.
